Competitive Intelligence Reports – Executive Edition

An DCIG Competitive Intelligence Report – Executive Edition is a shorter DCIG report. It helps define how two competing products or product families differ to help accelerate and justify buying decisions. The Competitive Intelligence Report – Executive Edition examines three or four key features that each product offers but implements differently. This concise report often includes product matrices that illustrate how each product implements these features. It highlights and articulates the value proposition of these features without disparaging either provider’s product. Instead, it focuses on the best use case for each product and provides key questions that buyers should ask and answer before buying. DCIG clients often obtain this offering with optional add-on services. These services may include a DCIG blog entry, podcast, translation services, and/or a webinar. Samples are available upon request.

Executive White Papers

A DCIG Executive White Paper (EWP) is a short professionally laid out, DCIG-branded document. The EWP focuses on a specific product feature or technology. The paper examines the specific business or technical challenge, how the product addresses that challenge, and it may provide details about how the product or feature works. This paper provides buyers with a concise overview that highlights key product differentiators and equips them with the information they need to make quick decisions. DCIG clients often obtain this offering with optional add-on services. These services may include a DCIG blog entry, podcast, translation services, and a webinar. Samples are available upon request.

Technology Reports

DCIG develops a technology report in cooperation with its client. A DCIG analyst holds one or more briefings with the appropriate individual(s) working on the client-side, such as a product manager. Through these meetings, the DCIG analyst identifies the concepts and ideas most essential and relevant to end-users. The analyst then creates an outline for client review that includes suggested charts, illustrations, and sidebars. When appropriate, the DCIG analyst also incorporates client feedback into the outline. Using this outline, the analyst then drafts the technology report. The client has the opportunity to review it and provide feedback before finalization. DCIG professionally lays out the technology report as a PDF document and supplies it for distribution. Samples are
available upon request.

Webinars

Webinars are online presentations of up to 60 minutes. DCIG offers webinars based on its competitive intelligence research. Webinars focus on how different products implement specific features, the features that have become table stakes, and how products differ. The DCIG analyst prepares a PowerPoint and presents the information as part of a broadcast. DCIG and the client typically negotiate as to who records and presents the broadcast. The presentation portion is completed in approximately 50 minutes, with time for questions and answers at the end.
