DCIG’s Research and Content Offerings
As an independent analyst firm, DCIG focuses its research on data storage, data protection, and related data center technologies. DCIG delivers most of this work through licensed offerings, such as DCIG TOP 5 reports, that help organizations evaluate technologies and providers.
DCIG also produces custom research, including competitive intelligence reports and executive white papers, to help technology companies educate buyers, support sales conversations, and communicate differentiation in competitive markets. You can find additional information on these services here.
DCIG’s History with Blogging
When launched in 2008, DCIG included blogging among its content offerings. At that time, DCIG used blogs to distill its analyst research into shorter-form insights. Over time, as client demand shifted toward longer-form research, interest in blogging services declined.
In recent months, DCIG has seen renewed interest from clients asking about its blogging services. To address these questions, DCIG has compiled an FAQ explaining its analyst-authored blogging services.
FAQs About DCIG’s Blogging Services
1. Why is DCIG providing blogging services for its clients again after not doing so routinely for a number of years?
Many media organizations that once provided coverage of IT infrastructure have reduced, and in some cases eliminated, technology reporting. As a result, providers have fewer venues for third-party coverage. This environment has increased interest from technology companies seeking alternatives for independent reporting.
At the same time, AI engines utilize independent articles and analyst research to train large language models on companies and their products. AI recommendations favor content from independent sources over vendor-authored marketing materials. Analyst-authored articles, therefore, contribute to the growing influence of AI-assisted research and recommendations used by enterprise buyers.
Finally, while AI tools have made it easier to generate large volumes of marketing content, content proliferation has also eroded trust in online sources. As a result, quality now matters more than quantity. In this context, analyst-authored articles serve to amplify credibility and visibility for technology providers.
2. What does the DCIG blogging process look like when creating a blog?
At a high level, the client and DCIG will determine the topic by the 15th of the month in which the article will be published. If necessary, the client will provide supporting documentation or a briefing. DCIG then writes the blog entry on the chosen topic. DCIG may, however, decline to cover a particular topic. Examples would include a lack of technical expertise or perhaps a conflict of interest.
3. How frequently does DCIG create a blog entry for its clients?
The frequency depends on the client’s needs. DCIG can write and publish a single ad hoc article. Or, a client can choose a quarterly or monthly schedule for DCIG to publish articles.
4. Do DCIG clients get a chance to review the blog entry before DCIG posts it? If so, how much time do they get to review it?
After DCIG drafts the article, DCIG sends the article to the client for feedback. If the client does not send any feedback within the review window, DCIG publishes the article. DCIG can receive and incorporate feedback up to a week after publishing the article online.
How DCIG Blogging Fits within DCIG Broader Analyst Content
While DCIG’s licensed and custom reports provide comprehensive evaluations and analysis, DCIG’s blogging services allow DCIG to address specific topics and developments in a more timely and accessible format. Articles often focus on product and market education, or on themes that benefit from an analyst perspective. Clients can leverage both formats together to balance depth with ongoing visibility.
Editorial Standards and Independence
As with all DCIG content, blog articles follow the same standards of independence, disclosure, and editorial judgment applied to licensed and custom research. DCIG retains discretion over topics to ensure accuracy and relevance. This approach helps preserve the integrity of analyst-authored blogging as an independent view.
Organizations with questions about DCIG’s blogging services, including scope, cadence, or suitability, can discuss these topics directly with DCIG. Additional details are available upon request by emailing DCIG or submitting your question through DCIG’s Contact Us form.
